I read this...

... is this what unrequited love about? :(

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”
~ Neil Gaiman

“The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned.”
~ William Somerset Maugham

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”
~ Mother Teresa

“You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what he'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

~ David Harkins

K*A, that's why I don't read Neil Gaiman's stuff. It's all too melancholic and depressing, leaving one in a downward spiral of mental energy.

Avoid that name with all that's in you!

Hi Chinoz,

Ohh...I love Neil Gaiman's books and comics. Read Coraline, Neverwhere, Anansi Boys and now reading American Gods.

His writing not really depressing but a bit mythical, weird and full of fantasy. In fact I like the way he look at people and situation, different from most people yet very poignant and true.

Oh, btw, I've made public one of my blogs. Finally! After many many persuasions from friends and family, there's one ... ahem ... select blog of my so-called professional life that I've put up.

Check it out at chinozconfesses.blogspot.com.

Cheers!

Hey girl... Love will be a wonderful experience if you can BALANCE it with other things. Else, it'll hurt like any other things in your life.

It's like ice-cream. If you have too much of it at one time, u'll get sick. Some people can only have 1 cup of ice-cream, then it's enough to make the person feel like in heaven. Some people needs more than 1 cup. But there's always a limit to each person. It's the matter of you finding your own limit to stay happy with LOVE. ;) Get wat I mean???

Thanks Asther. That's a great analogy. Everything is relative and subjective.
